Microsoft has published the release plan for Dynamics 365 Business Central 2026 Release Wave 1, and the update brings several enhancements across AI, manufacturing, finance, Shopify integration, and developer productivity.
Some of the notable features planned for this release:
Dedicated task pane for managing AI agents and Copilot tasks
Review AI-generated content directly from pages
Improved manufacturing usability and subcontracting capabilities
Quality management support for evaluating goods and materials
Approval workflows for requisition worksheets and item journals
Item variant improvements with attributes and pictures
Shopify enhancements including variant image sync and product options from item attributes
Financial reporting enhancements and new auditing APIs
Troubleshooting MCP Server support for AL development
The overall direction of this wave clearly continues Microsoft’s focus on AI-assisted ERP experiences along with operational improvements for finance, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
