There is no surprise that ChartGPT is everywhere. So, I wanted to try a few things w.r.t Business Central on how accurate and efficient it is.
We all are aware of how specific the customizations are in BC and it is extremely hard to find solutions on MS Docs, youtube, or over the internet. Dynamics Forums are our go-to things for these, but it is definitely tough to get coding solutions, that too on time.
I was amazed to see how the results came out, maybe not always be an optimal solution, but the way it handles your specific requirements and brings you a solution.
Let's have a look at some of the things ChatGPT can do:
1. Give a User case and it will write a script for you.
2. Ask the AI to add comments for your script
Note: You can also provide your own script and it will add comments to it. (I can already see many developers happy!)
3. Ask the AI to explain a script to you.
4. Ask the AI to write a PowerShell command.
5. Ask how to Integrate with different MS Dynamics 365 Products
There is a lot more we can do.
The takeaway from this is,
1. It cannot replace any developer and isn't always accurate, for example:
It did not use extensions and instead created a new table with a field.
2. Definitely makes a developer's life a lil easier, and is definitely cool! ;)
3. Possibly will improve in the future.
4. Ask the right questions.
5. You do not have to explain it, but be specific.
6. It also provides some explanation of the solution it provided.
7. The way it is different from Google search is that you do not have to go through a lot of things to find a working solution and you continue asking questions on the same topic, it remembers your session.
